On the 27th and 28th of January 2024, the “European Fairytale Orchestra”, conducted by the Belgian maestro Dirk Boiy, will present the musical fairy tale “The Marquis of Carabas”  (a.k.a. “The Booted Cat”.) at the renowned Apollo Theater of Hermoupolis.

The European Fairytale Festival team is looking forward to re- introducing the families of the island of Syros, regardless of nationality, age or musical background to classical music via the story of this courageous and inventive speaking cat! 

The narration will be performed in Greek, by Chrysoula Kechagioglou. 

Music and narration will be accompanied by puppeteers and actors residing in Syros.

In the first part, the wonderful Youth Choir of the Cyclades Orchestra introduces us to the world of felines with five songs dedicated to cats, from the four corners of Europe.

In order to enjoy this performance even more, the conductor and his musicians offer an introductory meeting to get us acquainted with the soundtrack of the fairy tale, in a one-hour workshop on Saturday, January 27 at 18:00 at the Cultural Center of Hermoupolis. The workshop is free and is addressed to the whole family.
