2nd EUROPEAN FAIRYTALE MUSIC FESTIVAL OF SYROS “THE CARNIVAL OF ANIMALS” (COMPOSITION: SAINT-SAENS)
The 2nd Syros Music Storytelling Festival will take place at the Apollo Theater on October 19 and 20, 2024 and challenges the audience to answer a burning question:
Does the story accompany the music or does the music illustrate the story?
15 actors, including classical and contemporary musicians and storytellers, are recruited to investigate this mystery together with the audience!
The Festival program includes:
3 performances dedicated to “Carnival of the Animals” (1886), the classic work of Saint-Saens depicting 14 satirical musical scenes. We will enter the world of animals guided by a funny fairy tale and we will have as a backdrop the drawings of the children of Syros who attended the summer workshop “Animal Farm” (free entry)
Before each performance, a “workshop” will be held by the artists on stage, so that young and old will have the opportunity to get to know the orchestra and the work.
Ποιος είναι αρκετά γενναίος ώστε να πάρει μέρος σε μια περιπέτεια αναζήτησης της συνταγής για το τέλειο μουσικό παραμύθι;
Alongside the performances, there will be an exhibition with all the works of the children of the summer workshop, at the Vardakeio school behind the Apollon theater.
Who is brave enough to take part in an adventure in search of the recipe for the perfect musical fairy tale?
